Hello! My name is Sara and I am the newest APCC with BLK Haven.
Welcome to a place of comfort, vulnerability, and most of all, open arms.
I am here to help guide you to where you want to be no matter then means. Often mental health is overlooked and labeled as “just being in your head,” but with me, your thoughts, feelings, and experiences are validated and taken into great consideration. My goal for you is to feel a million times lighter after each session, as if the weight of your situation, whether good or bad, is lifted off of your shoulders. You matter, your well-being matters, and you deserve to have someone remind you that things do get better. I can be that someone for you.

I have been in practice as a psychotherapist for over 7 years. My Master’s in Social Work focused on Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality and how our different life experiences shape and influence how we navigate our surroundings. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, BIPOC (Black, Indigenous Person of Color) & LGBTQIA, and a veteran of the United States Armed Forces, some of my approaches in helping my clients identify their challenges and barriers to their identified problems start from a person-centered approach by discovering who they are and what they need and want in life.
I recognize my client’s right to self-determination, and I want to empower my clients singly or collectively through collaboration to develop and discover their obtainable short-term and long-term plans and goals. Whatever those plans and goals are.
Let’s further explore together how to make better use of the tools we’ve been working with and perhaps add additional tools to the toolbox or not.
